I have recently tried to redo myself into a "Krazy Coupon Lady" Is it working? Nah, I don't believe so... for the first few months, I made my list, I went to the stores, I didn't understand how things work. I wound up spending more money than I originally planned. Now, don't get me wrong, I still saved loads of money, just not enough.
Something you will hear Mr. Man say quite often is,"Time is Money". Honestly, when he first started started saying that to me, I would just seethe inside. This guy has no clue what it's like to have the responsibility of taking care of two kids when you have no money! It is preposterous for him to make such snide comments to me! Right?
Uummm....kinda starting to agree with him...
--------------------------on the flip side-----------------------------
Last week, I went to the grocery store...with noooo coupons, no add in my hand, just walked in and bought the stuff I needed. (or thought I needed) Oh Yeah! It felt so good not having to worry about that! I was in and out of the store, after getting everything we would need for a week plus, with in an hour....and then I stepped up to pay. Whoops.$275.00!!!!!! I had had it down with groceries and toiletries to $100.00 a week. Paid a little extra THIS week!
....eeck!
Once I got home, everyone started putting the groceries away, and the question was asked,"How much did you spend?" I told them, and you should have seen the looks on their faces! They all stopped and were open-mouthed, staring at me...looking at me like I was some mutated form of alien!
Mr.Man: What? No.
Lilly: Why so much?
Lola: Didn't you use your coupons?
Mr. Man: No, really. You spent that much?
WHAT?!?
The people that do not want to help me cut coupons. The people that are embarrassed to walk in a store beside me with my handy-dandy notebook. ....these are the people questioning my shopping??? Where did the "time is money" line go?
----------------------------------------
Bottom line. I love walking in a store, and walking out with $100 worth of products and only paying $10-$20 for it. The best deals with coupons that I find is normally at Walgreen's, so I will continue doing that. If the peanut gallery has something to say about it, they can grocery shop themselves. I have stuff to do.
